Taiwan is an island off the east coast of China, about the size of West Virginia. Taiwan has a population of approximately 23 million of which 3% are Christian. Most of the remaining 97% population practice a form of religion that is a mixture of ancestor and idol worship. At the present time, Taiwan’s government is a democracy that permits free exercise of religion. Missionaries are free to preach in churches and evangelize in open air meetings.
