Chapman's June 2015 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Thank God that we are seeing the hand of God working in Taiwan.  Opportunities to preach the gospel are everywhere.  People’s heart are open and ready to receive the Word of God.  Please continue to pray:

1)  Ask God to send us mature Christians who can speak the language to help us with the work in Taiwan.

2) Thank God, through our recent saxophone concerts, quite a few people prayed to accept the Lord.  Please pray that God will help these newcomers to renounce idolatry and ancestor worship, receive baptism and become devoted followers of Christ.  There were eleven concerts in all, in venues as diverse as the front of an idol temple, a senior citizens home, an elementary school and a youth group meeting.  If you would like to see pictures of the concerts, please click on the following: http://barthandjanine.blogspot.tw/2015/05/saxophone-concert-photos.html If you would like to see a video of a concert (with dance and testimonies), click on the following:  http://barthandjanine.blogspot.tw/2015/05/saxophone-concert.html

3) Please pray for our new men’s ministry.    For a long time we have felt that our men were not able to make meaningful connections with each other.  We started hosting a monthly men’s breakfast, where the men hear a short practical message and break into groups for discussion and prayer.   The response has been overwhelming!   If you would like to see pictures of the men’s breakfast, please click here:      http://barthandjanine.blogspot.tw/2015/05/photos-2015.html
Here is a testimony of how one of the women in Janine’s small group led a neighborhood store manager to the Lord.

“Yesterday afternoon, I went to the Integrity Village organic store to buy some garlic and olive oil.  Mrs. Chapman just happened to be checking out at the same time.  The store manager was at the register.  When she saw that Mrs. Chapman was a foreigner,  the three of us started talking.  Mrs. Chapman mentioned that we are Christians.  I started sharing our beliefs.  Mrs. Chapman prayed silently as I shared how I became a Christian.  As I shared the store manager started to cry. She said that even though her work was good, she rarely spent time with her husband and children. As a result, they suffered a great deal.  As we were sharing,  another customer came to checkout so we stopped talking.  I told her I would come back tomorrow.
When I returned the next day, I brought the “Four Spiritual Laws” booklet and a music CD.  I led her in a prayer of salvation.  Then I told her that she was saved through faith in Christ.  This made her very happy.
Finally, I invited her to join a small group.  The only day she is available is the day I just happen to lead a women’s small group in my home, practically next door to the store.  Praise the Lord!  I also invited her to attend church.  Thank God for giving me an opportunity to be an human ambassador for God and helping me to lead people to Christ!”

We shared this testimony to show you how open the people of Taiwan have become to the gospel.  This is a result of your prayers and ours.  Please continue to thank God and pray.

Sincerely,

Barth & Janine Chapman
